  Atlanta and the surrounding area had always been a hotbed for party rap and bass music throughout the '90s, and more than anyone else, Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz took these styles to the masses with a cutting-edge Dirty South attitude perfect for the burgeoning club scene of the time. The Atlanta-based rapper/producer began as a club DJ before Jermaine Dupri invited him in 1993 to come work for So So Def Records, where Jon served as the executive vice president of AR. In the meantime, Jon hosted a radio show at V103 and began producing and remixing tracks for such major Atlanta-area artists as Too Short, Xscape, Total, and Usher. After making a name for himself, Jon then debuted his Eastside Boyz (Big Sam and Lil Bo) on Get Crunk, Who U Wit: Da Album (1996) and scored a club anthem, "Who You Wit?" For the next five years, Jon remained an underground phenomenon, mainly confined to regional success, until he broke into the national market with "Bia', Bia'," his second massive hit, this one featuring Ludacris, Too Short, and Chyna Whyte and from Put Yo Hood Up (2001). Jon the Eastside Boyz returned quickly with another album, Kings of Crunk (2002), and with it "I Don't Give A...," yet another huge hit. That wasn't all, though. By mid-2003, Jon had become a certified hitmaker, responsible for a number of national hits, chief among them "Get Low" (a Top Five hit featuring the Ying Yang Twins) and "Damn!" (a Top Ten hit featuring YoungBloodz). By the end of 2004, Lil Jon's favorite expressions "Yeaaahh?!" and "Whaat!?" became fodder for numerous comedians. As Dave Chappelle's hilarious impression of the producer was becoming as popular as his Rick James impression, Lil Jon himself gathered his East Side Boyz and a slew of guest artists for his next album. Everyone from Ice Cube to Bad Brains appeared on Lil Jon's Crunk Juice, released by TVT at the end of 2004. Cashing in on two exploding trends, the Ichiban label commissioned some remixes of old tracks and issued Reggaeton Remix in 2005 without Lil' Jon's approval or involvement.   Pitbull ushered in 2019 with his fifth annual New Year’s Eve event at Bayfront Park in Miami and wrapped another stellar year in 2018 that included scoring the film Gotti, starring John Travolta; having a featured song, “Ocean to Ocean,” on the Aquaman soundtrack; and opening the first iLov305 themed nightlife destination in Biloxi, Mississippi. In 2018, he released his tenth full-length album, Climate Change; completed a second co-headlining U.S. tour with Enrique Iglesias; and released his first-ever Greatest Hits, plus a new Spanish single.

  Whether it’s his Voli 305 Vodka, which has its own signature cocktails at multiple Sugar Factory American Brasserie locations, or the fragrance line “Pitbull,” his influence has catapulted. His Las Vegas residency, “Time of Our Lives” at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, has now accomplished multiple consecutive runs that include new dates in spring 2019 at Zappos Theater. In January 2019, Pitbull celebrated the opening of iLov305, a restaurant and nightlife concept on Miami's famed Ocean Drive. Pitbull has signed on to the STX UglyDolls franchise, based on the ubiquitous pop culture Uglydoll characters. Pitbull will write and perform an original song for the UglyDolls movie, slated for release on May 3, and he lends his voice talent to one of the film’s key characters. Norwegian Cruise Line handpicked him as Godfather to Norwegian Escape, one of the most innovative cruise ships ever built. Globalization, his 24/7 commercial-free channel on Sirius XM (Ch.13), has become one of the platform’s fastest-growing channels following its 2015 launch.

  Pitbull also serves as ambassador to the Sports Leadership Arts and Management (SLAM!) charter schools he has helped to establish. Launched in the Little Havana section of Miami where he spent some of his youth, the SLAM! model has now expanded to Las Vegas and West Palm Beach, Florida. Always striving to implement its mission to bring relevant experiences to its students, the SLAM! Foundation recently announced a new initiative: The first student-run national radio broadcast is planning to launch on SiriusXM

  He was honored alongside music legends as well as Nobel Peace Prize and Pulitzer Prize winners at the 2019 International Achievement Summit.
