Approximate Running Times: Doors - 6:30pm Start - 7:00pm Finish - 8:00pm There is no one else that comes close to the phenomenon that is Dave Hughes. Behind that cooked looking facade is a mind that works like no other. Dave has carved out a large place in the Australian cultural landscape for good reason. His take on the world around him is unique, ever changing, and not to be missed. His shows are events that live long in the memory. Now more brutally honest than ever, not only is he Australia's best stand-up comedian, he is as good as it gets anywhere on the planet. .

"With clear shades of The Pogues, The La's and Springsteen, they are clearly doing plenty right" - Kerrang Dave Hughes and the RFPB are an amped up punk rock political folk band from Glasgow, not that dissimiliar to the Dropkick Murphies, The Levellers and The Clash. They have released three CDs, each going on to sell several hundreds of copies through nothing more than grassroots promotion and touring. The lead-off single, 'As You Are' from last year's "In Death Do We Part?" went viral on Youtube, attracting 3000 views in a single weekend, and the resulting sales of the single and album allowed them to record the follow-up, this year's 'Doctors and Dates". With a strong DIY ethic, they have toured the UK several times a year since 2008 and played venues all around Glasgow including King Tuts and, amazingly, the Barrowland Ballroom (on a bill that included Frightened Rabbit, Big Country and Alabama Three). They have performed at influential London venues such as The Old Queen's Head, The Bull and Gate, and the Camden Head. Festivals under their belt include 2000 Trees, Guilfest and Rebellion. In March of 2014 Dave completed a two week German solo tour. In Autumn of 2013 he did a short promotional tour of the East Coast of the USA, including playing at respected venues of Rockwood Music Hall (NY), Grand Victory (Brooklyn), and The Saint (Asbury Park, NJ). The last was a dream come true for him as he's a massive Bruce Springsteen fan! Dave Hughes and the Renegade Folk Punk Band - "If Gaslight Anthem got in a fight with Against Me! at a folk festival" - Wesley Shearer, Scotscribbler "songs that are too melodic to be the traditional, if not literal definition of punk, but too ramshackle for the folk circuit." - Lisa-Marie Ferla, Last Years Girl Everything You Need: http://www.davehughesmusic.co.uk
