Colours of Ostrava : UMUT ADAN

Turkish multi-instrumentalist stands among the most prominent contemporary torchbearers of the genre, following in the footsteps of legends like Erkin Koray. His work brings an authentic sound to international audiences, wrapped in a distinctly modern edge. At Colours, Umut Adan will introduce his new band Zebâniss, formed together with Italian musicians Andrea Marazzi, Michele Busson and Filippo Gillon. Together, they develop the concept of what they call “danceable dissent” – blending Turkish psychedelia with Latin American cumbia rhythms and a spirit of social protest. Their analog recordings are rich in layered guitar textures, creating an atmosphere that genuinely transports listeners back to the 1970s. This year’s album Başka Bahar is a transnational project, developed between Turin, Istanbul and Brussels, offering a poetic and intense response to the world we live in today.
