Jason Donovan was born in Melbourne Australia in 1968. His talent and good looks made him a natural on Australian TV. He was 9 when he took on his first professional acting role.

His break came with the role of Scott Robinson in ‘Neighbours’ which turned him into an international star, gaining every Australian major award including ‘Most Popular Actor’. The series went onto to become one of the highest rating shows in the UK which led to Jason’s association and huge success with acclaimed producers, Stock, Aitken and Waterman. His debut album ‘Ten Good Reasons’ was the biggest selling album of 1989 contributing to impressive career sales of 13 million albums and 4 UK No.1 singles. Music was always a constant in Jason’s life, as was his passion for acting and theatre. This combination became a natural transition for what was to become one of his definitive roles – Olivier-nominated portrayal of Joseph in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ at London’s Palladium. This sell out 18-month run in 1991 produced a number one single and best-selling soundtrack album, and is still known for being one of the most successful revivals of all time.

Jason has gone on to star in The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Priscilla, Annie Get Your Gun, Sound of Music, The King’s Speech and Million Dollar Quartet. On television he has featured in I’m A Celeb (2006) and Strictly Come Dancing (2011), Who Do You Think You Are (2011), ITV’s Superstar (2012) and Piers Morgan’s Life Stories (2012). He also appeared in ITV’s drama ‘Echo Beach’ (2008).

In 2016 Jason embarked on his Ten Good Reason’s tour, his first for 8 years. Jason played 44 sold-out dates throughout the UK and a plethora of 80s festivals in the UK and Europe over the summer.

In Feb 2018, Jason embarked on his ‘Amazing Midlife Crisis Tour’ including 5 sold out nights at the Edinburgh Festival. During a break in December 2018, he found time to reprise his role of Parson Nathaniel for The War Of The Worlds 40th Anniversary Tour. This year finds Jason co producing Priscilla Queen of the Desert Tour, a behind the scenes role for him this time. Meanwhile, the Amazing Midlife Crisis shows (110 dates and counting!) continue until May 2019.

    Cast

After a sold-out comeback tour in 2010, Cast reunited with original producer John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead, The Fall) to release a new album ‘Troubled Times’ in 2012, the fifth since the now classic 'All Change', the fastest ever selling debut album on Polydor Records at the time, outstripping even their long time influence, The Who.

After releasing four albums on Polydor the essence of Cast kept making music, John Power released 3 solo roots albums, made a theatrical debut as John Lennon in a stage production of his life at the Royal Court in Liverpool, and as long term collaborator with The Justice Collective (feat. Pete Wylie, Mick Jones, Peter Hooton) featured on the UK Christmas Number 1 'He's My Brother', seeking justice for the 96 people that died at a football match in 1989. The complete studio recordings of John Power 2002-2015 boxset was released in May 2015.

Lead guitarist Skin has been recording albums and touring the world with Robert Plant (Zed Zeppelin) as member of The Sensational Space Shifters and released an album as 'Men From Mars'.

When not drumming with Cast Keith O'Neil is Tour Manager for major UK acts (and also drummed with Kealer, check those records out).

In 2015 original bassist Pete Wilkinson stepped back from the band and ex-La's and John Power Band member Jay Lewis stepped up to bass duties.

Cast continue to record new music and tour. Noel Gallagher described seeing Cast live as a religious experience. There is still nothing in this world to suggest that he was wrong about that.

  • Wet Wet Wet
    Wet Wet Wet

Wet Wet Wet (formed in 1982) is a Scottish soft rock and pop rock four-piece, best known for their cover of The Troggs’ 1960 hit single “Love Is All Around”, hailing from Clydebank, Scotland.

  • Sleeper
    Sleeper
[1] Sleeper (formed in 1993) recorded three studio albums: Smart, The It Girl and Pleased To Meet You.

Their breakthrough song, Inbetweener, featured a memorable video with Dale Winton, who was a popular icon among students at the time. The group is closely associated with Britpop; frontwoman Louise Wener was arguably, along with Elastica's Justine Frischmann, the movement's biggest female star. She was even something of a sex symbol. By the time Pleased To Meet You was released in 1997, Britpop was fading, as was the band's audience. After their split (on 30 December 1998) Louise Wener went on to have a successful career as a novelist.

Sleeper also recorded a cover version of the Blondie song Atomic, which was used as a track in the film trainspotting. Their version was quite well-received and the only criticism is that it was too similar to the original.

The It Girl was arguably their finest moment with Lie Detector, Sale of the Century and Statuesque as the defining tracks. It was produced by Stephen Street then famous for his contributions to The Smiths, Morrissey and Blur. It captured the imagination of the Britpop era. Wener admits that they were basically hanging onto the coattails of the bigger bands including the likes of Blur and Oasis.

The original band name for the band was Surrender Dorothy. They took that name from the smoke trail telling Dorothy to surrender in the Wizard of Oz movie.

The band was the inspiration for the phrase "Sleeperbloke", referring to the disparity between the glamorous singer Wener and the other frequently ignored members of the band (who tended to be far more anonymous and stood at the back). The term is still used by music press journalists and musicians, to refer to any person of limited standing within a band or an especially drab and unremarkable individual. Sleeper were said to be amused by the term and even produced an ironic "Sleeperbloke" T-shirt which sold well.

    The real-life Sleeperblokes were:

Jon Stewart (born Jonathan David Stewart, 12 September 1967 in Sheffield) — (guitarist)
Diid Osman (b. Kenadiid Osman, 10 April 1968 in Woking) — (bassist)
Andy McClure (b. 4 July 1970 in Liverpool) — (drummer)

[2] "Sleeper is a auteur of claustrophobic, sample-based hip-hop production. His work, both as an accomplished musician, and as a respected tattoo and visual artist balances a breadth of spirit with worldly, emotional depth. Finding influence and community in the worlds of classic hip-hop and artistic, experimental rock, Sleeper fills his tracks with sound, leaving an MC with just enough room to create or with the luxury of saying more by saying less. His music is lo-fi with purpose: grainy sounds are used to lend atmosphere to larger, modern electronic sound collages, grimy drums sound out familiar hip-hop patterns beneath thick layers of sound. Sleeper is a craftsman in the truest sense of the word."
