Pumpegris
Pumpegris is a folk-fusion band that playfully mixes the old and new, the humorous and serious. Inspired by Norwegian folk music, west African music, shoegaze and the singer songwriter genre they make pop music. They focus on groove, Norwegian traditional dance tunes and witty yet bittersweet lyrics. Together with folk music label Ta:lik and producer Tuva Syvertsen they released their first album in February 2025. In their release they pick up references from West-African music, rap, singer-songwriter and shoegaze, taking a departure from witch-like folkrock into something more groovy, dirty and intimate. Traditional Norwegian dance tunes become pop-ballads!
