Les Imprimés has just recently released their sophomore album, Fading Forward via Big Crown Records. The follow-up to Morten Martens’ critically acclaimed 2023 debut Rêverie, the album was written, performed, and produced almost entirely by the self-taught multi-instrumentalist who hails from Kristiansand, Norway.
Fading Forward builds on Martens’ soulful, genre-spanning foundation while delving deeper into themes of love, loss, and resilience.
Drawing from ’60s and ’70s soul, doo-wop songwriting, hip-hop–informed drum patterns, and the melodic sensibility of ’90s and 2000s alternative, Martens creates music that feels both classic and current. His greatest strength, however, lies in his emotional clarity—delivering songs with an immediacy that connects on first listen and continues to deepen over time.
Martens handles nearly every instrument on Fading Forward, overseeing production and arrangements while delivering understated, expressive vocals. “It’s soul music, but I don’t exactly have the soul voice,” he says. “I do it my own way.”

Les ImprimésMorten Martens is the man behind Les Imprimés. Born and raised in Kristiansand, Norway, Morten keeps a low profile while making heartfelt, highly infectious music. On his 2023 debut, he plays nearly all the instruments and handles production and arranging. His sensible sound pulls tones from 60s and 70s soul, adds arrangement nods from Doo Wop records, drum energy from hip hop, and vocal stylings from the 90s. But Martens’ lyrics, emotion, and delivery truly make the whole infectious pop thing come together and stand out.
