TRANG FØDSELTrang Fødsel is a Norwegian group who enjoyed mainstream success in the late 90s. The band started out as a duo in Bergen in 1992, and after increasing the lineup by three members they released their first album, "Bare Barnet", in 1995. The 1997 release "Hybel" earned the band a nomination for Best Song ("Kursiv") during the Norwegian Grammy Awards. The song was a huge hit on Norwegian radio. The band's latest album, "Hammock", was released in 2007, 8 years after the previous album, "Damp". None of these achieved the success of their earlier efforts, although the 2005 single "Fredag" did receive much airplay on Norwegian radio.

Dumdum Boys
DumDum Boys started up in the late 1970s as a punk band under the name Wannskrækk. Wannskrækk released one of the most sought-after Norwegian punk seven inches called "Faen kuler treffer aldri riktig" in 1981, the year after the Wannskrækk 12" was released. Wannskrækk moved on and reinvented themselves with a new name and a somewhat new sound in 1985.
This shift invoked the beginning of one of the greatest success stories in Norwegian rock ever. The new name, DumDum Boys, was taken from a song on the album "The Idiot" by Iggy Pop. Their debut album, Blodig Alvor (na na na na na), is still regarded as one of the classic albums in Norwegian rock. The same is said for their following 1989 album, Splitter Pine. They are still the only band that have won "Spellemannsprisens Rock Category" (the Norwegian version of "Grammy Awards") three times in a row.
Third album Pstereo fulfilled the trilogy of award-winning LP's, including the two others mentioned above. The song "Splitter Pine" is one of the most well known rock-singles in the history of Norwegian rock. Since then, bass player Persi Iveland has been replaced by Aslak Dørum, who now is the song-writer alongside rock legend and guitarist Kjartan Kristiansen. Kristiansen is one of the most respected song-writers in Norway, especially because of his well written and important lyrics, sung by frontman Prepple Houmb. Sola Johnsen is still the drummer and has been that since the late 70's. He's released a solo-ep called "Verdens Beste Trommis" ("Worlds Greatest Drummer"), as a tribute to Led Zeppelin hero John Bonham.
After a seven year hiatus, they had a very successful tour in Norway during the summer of 2004. They went back into the studio in 2005 and released their critically acclaimed new album "Gravitasjon" in March 2006. "Gravitasjon" showed that DumDum Boys is still a band influenced by the punk rock scene. The band is now planning a giant summer tour in Norway and it is expected that all concerts will be sold-out.

Ina WroldsenNorwegian singer/songwriter Ina Wroldsen began her career as a solo artist, but is probably best known as a writer for other high-profile artists. Her first real success as a songwriter came with her work on the British/Irish pop group the Saturdays' debut album, Chasing Lights, in 2008. The following years saw her build a large body of work that included songs for the Pussycat Dolls, Pixie Lott, Leona Lewis, and Britney Spears. By 2013 she had decided to dip her toes back into performance. She and Icelandic singer/songwriter Arnthor Birgisson formed the electropop duo Ask Embla, and the pair released their debut record, Northern Light, in 2013. The album went on to become one of the most downloaded/streamed records of that year in her native Norway. Her foray into her own work didn't stunt her songwriting career and she further expanded her list of collaborators, going on to write songs for Shakira, Jess Glynne, Demi Lovato, and Olly Murs. In 2015, DJ Calvin Harris released "How Deep Is Your Love" featuring Wroldsen's vocal, and the single became a hit as one of the year's most streamed/downloaded songs. In addition to her music-making and writing career, she also became a judge on the Norwegian version of Idol. Wroldsen continues to write for others, contributing to Clean Bandit's #1 singles Rockabye and Symphony, Tinie Tempah's "Text from Your Ex" and the Brit Award-winning Rag 'n' Bone Man's "Ego" from his debut album, Human.

May has been one of Norway's most talked-about pop newcomers of 2025. She’s been named “Månedens Urørt” by NRK P3, scored multiple A-listings on National radio, performed at VG-lista, played a packed show at Blå during the showcase festival by:Larm in Oslo, and co-written and sung on Coucheron’s track Galopp with Stig Brenner and Arif, which peaked at #6 on the Norwegian charts. She has also been nominated for several awards – Rising Star of the Year at by:Larm, the NRJ Awards, Årets Urørt on P3, and both Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Song of the Year at P3 Gull. On TikTok, she has over 51 million views and received likes and comments from popstars like Sabrina Carpenter, Julia Michaels, and Tate McRae. As a songwriter, she has released music with Alan Walker, Alessandra, Germany’s LINA and Dominik Hartz, Ylva, Matoma, and Stig Brenner. In 2026, she's releasing her debut EP "Bloom", and has an already fully booked summer featuring some of Norway’s biggest festivals, including Landstreffet, Vaulen, NEON, and the prestigious Øyafestivalen in Oslo.
