Aïta Mon Amour består af den marokkanske rap-pioner Widad Mjama og Khalil Epi, en markant skikkelse på den arabiske elektroniske scene. Sammen genfortolker de den flere hundrede år gamle aïta-tradition – en rå og poetisk rural blues båret af chikhates, som traditionelt har været stærke, uafhængige kvindelige sangere. Duoens debutalbum “Abda” tager udgangspunkt i den marokkanske Abda-region, hvor aïta-traditionen har sine dybe rødder. Her væves Widad Mjamas kraftfulde vokal og rytmiske spoken word sammen med Khalil Epis detaljerige produktioner af pulserende elektronik, tunge basflader og organiske teksturer. Sammen skaber de en intens og sanselig musikoplevelse, hvor tradition ikke bevares i stilstand, men bringes levende ind i nutiden.

Aïta har historisk fungeret som et talerør for samfundets oversete stemmer, og netop denne oprørske og frisættende kraft viderefører duoen med stor overbevisning. Aïta Mon Amour consists of Moroccan rap pioneer Widad Mjama and Khalil Epi, a prominent figure on the Arab electronic music scene.
