Hailed by The Thin Air as “one of the island’s all-time songwriting greats,” Junior Brother is an idiosyncratic and richly lyrical singer-songwriter from County Kerry, Ireland.

Born Ronan Kealy, Junior Brother has built a devoted and growing following both at home and internationally, driven by his thrilling, unmissable live performances and a truly distinctive sound. Blending traditional Irish instrumentation with bold experimentation, his music has been described by KLOF Magazine as sounding like “birdsongs or Armageddon, sometimes within the bounds of a single song.”

His voice, variously described by The Quietus as “a cracked soul, a deranged howl, a bedazzling babble”, cements his reputation as one of Ireland’s most compelling artistic voices, a sentiment echoed by The Irish Times.

His third album, The End, released on 5 September, was met with widespread critical acclaim and featured prominently across multiple 2025 year-end lists, including a Top 10 placement at Time Out’s Best Albums of 2025.
