Henry Saint Clair Fredericks, who goes by the stage name Taj Mahal, is an internationally recognized blues musician who folds various forms of world music into his offerings. A self-taught singer-songwriter who plays the guitar, banjo and harmonica (among many other instruments), Mahal has done much to reshape the definition and scope of blues music during his 40+ year career by fusing it with nontraditional forms, including sounds from the Caribbean, Africa and the South Pacific.

    The Record Company

The Record Company has returned to form on The 4th Album (via Round Hill Records). The first radio single, “Talk To Me,” is at #4 on the AAA radio chart – and climbing. The next two digital singles, “Dance on Mondays” and “I Found Heaven (In My Darkest Days),” have already become fan-favorites at the band’s raucous shows.

“A common theme on this record was keeping the sound raw and back-to-basics, says TRC bassist and in-house producer Alex Stiff. “We still had the cheap recording gear from our first album– including the junky yard sale guitars and no-name drum set –and we dug deep on the writing to find the songs and the spirit.”

That stripped-back approach has served TRC well since their 2016 debut, Give It Back To You. They self-produced that album in the living room studio at Alex’s house, on that same cheap equipment. They had a zero-dollar album budget, played ferocious shows, and made friends wherever they went.

TRC’s tenacity did the trick. Their debut album garnered a Grammy nomination and contained “Off The Ground”– a song that shot to #1 on the AAA radio chart. 2018’s All Of This Life continued to build this momentum with single “Life To Fix” again hitting #1 at AAA radio. 2021’s Play Loud saw the band take a slightly more polished approach to their bluesy Rock and Roll.

Throughout their career, TRC has mounted countless headline tours across the US and Europe, and have toured with legendary acts John Mayer, Bob Seger, My Morning Jacket, and many others.

    Myron Elkins
Myron Elkins didn’t set out to become a full-time musician. After graduating from high school, the then 17-year-old instead became a welder in his hometown of Otsego, Michigan and had every intention of making that his career. However, fate had other plans. Three years ago, a relative signed him up for a battle of the bands at a local venue, despite the fact Elkins’ only prior experience with live music was playing at church and a few bars in the small Michigan town where he grew up. With just three weeks’ notice, Elkins put a band together featuring three of his cousins and a friend. Although the group didn’t win (they came in second), the experience opened Elkins’ eyes to a very different career path. Now, at 21 years old, he’s poised to become one of music’s most intriguing new artists with the release of his Dave Cobb-produced debut album, Factories, Farms & Amphetamines, via Elektra/Low Country Sound. Across the album’s ten tracks, Elkins crafts sharp observations informed by his working-class upbringing, infusing his music with rich personal experience. “I actually wrote a lot of these songs on the album in my head while I was welding,” he says. “I just loved to play and wri

J & The Causeways have shared the stage with notable acts such as: The Revivalists, Sublime, George Porter Jr., Better Than Ezra, Marc Broussard, Flow Tribe, Cowboy Mouth, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Tab Benoit, Etc. When they are not on the road, J & The Causeways regularly perform at Maple Leaf Bar, Ace Hotel, Howlin Wolf, and the legendary Tipitina’s in their hometown of New Orleans.
