Fink sera de retour pour deux dates françaises le 31 octobre au Transbo Club de Lyon et le 10 novembre à l’Élysée Montmartre de Paris pour présenter son neuvième album studio, “The City is Coming to Erase It All”.
L'histoire de Fink se résumait autrefois ainsi : Fin Greenall a commencé comme DJ, a écrit des chansons avec Amy Winehouse, a fini par devenir le premier auteur-compositeur-interprète signé par le légendaire label électronique Ninja Tune, puis est devenu le deuxième artiste le plus vendu des Cornouailles. Mais aujourd'hui, cette version occulte l'essentiel. Aujourd'hui, avec son neuvième album, Fink s'inscrit dans la lignée d'artistes authentiques et discrètement révolutionnaires comme Michael Chapman.
“The City Is Coming to Erase It All” est le neuvième album studio de Fink, après “Beauty In Your Wake", sorti en 2024. L'album a été réalisé avec une vision très spécifique sur sa période. Il s'agit d'imaginer un disque que Michael Chapman aurait pu enregistrer, jusque dans le choix des cordes de guitare. C’est le fruit d’une soif de découverte et d’une idolâtrie de l'album en tant que forme, comme c'était le cas en 1974. La pochette de City reflète son contenu, la première chanson est l'introduction, la dernière chanson instrumentale est la conclusion. C'est une histoire. C'est un album destiné aux personnes qui, comme ses créateurs, sont curieuses.

FinkFink, AKA Fin Greenall, is a singer-songwriter from Cornwall, UK, currently based in Berlin, and known for his seven studio albums for Ninja Tune and the hit single "Looking Too Closely". Greenall's music has been featured in The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul and Ava DuVernay's epic Selma. But the stage is the place where Fink, together with longtime band Tim Thornton (drums) and Guy Whittaker (bass), really comes alive. Touring relentlessly since 2006, they’ve amassed a global following from London to Mumbai, from Los Angeles to Berlin, from Amsterdam to Sydney, and tours have grown longer and longer. 2024 brought a creative rebirth for Fink, with eighth full studio album Beauty In Your Wake (R’COUP’D), recorded in Cornwall, UK, with Grammy-winning producer Sam Okell. This was followed by a huge European tour and Fink’s return to the USA/Canada, a part of the world where they love to play. Fink's third live album Wheels Turn Beneath My Feet II is out everywhere now, capturing 10 years of shows, and will soon be followed by album number nine, The City Is Coming To Erase It All, again recorded in Cornwall with Sam Okell, to be accompanied by another mammoth world tour.
