THREE TITANS. ONE GENERATION. ONE HISTORIC TOUR.

Many years ago, I shared an idea with Nergal: to create our own version of a “Big Four” tour — but built around the three major Black Metal forces that emerged in the early ’90s. In my mind, that unholy lineup was Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, and Dark Funeral. His response was immediate: “I’d love to do that.”

We never continued the discussion back then, but the idea clearly stayed alive. Over the years, Dimmu Borgir and I also talked about joining forces again, and their interest was always strong.

And when the offer came in from the Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir camp — uniting all three of us for a massive European tour — that long-standing vision suddenly ignited into reality. The band and I were genuinely excited and happy to see the idea kept alive.

Now the “In League With Satan” tour is officially happening — the biggest Black Metal tour the world has ever seen. A moment of history in the making.

Three bands. One generation. One colossal tour.

While preparing for this, Dark Funeral will otherwise keep a relatively low profile as we focus entirely on writing the next album - letting the creative fire grow in silence.

I’d say this is our version of the Big Four — but in the shape of the Unholy Trinity of Black Metal - and it will be absolutely epic. A tour not to be missed.

    A JOURNEY THROUGH DARKNESS

1993 marked the unholy inception, when Lord Ahriman and Blackmoon [1993–1996] founded what would become one of the most iconic and intense forces in Black Metal: Dark Funeral. The band’s legendary, self-financed debut EP was recorded at Dan Swanö's Unisound Studio in January 1994 and unleashed upon an unsuspecting world on May 4th that year. The black flame was lit — and it has burned ever brighter since.

Over the decades, Dark Funeral has released a series of now-classic albums, survived multiple lineup changes, and taken their infernal message to over 45 countries, sharing the stage with bands such as Dimmu Borgir, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, and Immortal.

The 2001 album "Diabolis Interium" was nominated for Best Metal Album at P3 Guld, and in 2002 the band made history by becoming the first foreign metal act to play in Singapore in over a decade.

Their highly praised live album, "De Profundis Clamavi ad Te Domine", cemented their reputation as a devastating live force. Then came 2005’s "Attera Totus Sanctus", produced by Daniel Bergstrand and Örjan Örnkloo, an album that stormed the Swedish metal charts at #3 and marked a new peak in intensity and precision.

Two official DVDs, "Attera Orbis Terrarum – Part I & II", followed, showcasing ferocious performances from Europe and South America — the latter capturing the insane energy of some of their most rabid fans.

In 2009, the band returned with the monumental "Angelus Exuro pro Eternus", recorded with Peter Tägtgren at Abyss Studio. The video for the track "My Funeral", filmed in an abandoned mental hospital, caused such a stir that MySpace banned it — while YouTube views skyrocketed.

    THE MODERN ERA OF DARKNESS

2016’s "Where Shadows Forever Reign", with artwork by Necrolord, introduced Heljarmadr on vocals and signaled a triumphant return to their roots — a chilling blend of atmosphere and brutality that earned awards from Swedish P3 Guld and German Metal Hammer.

In 2018, Lord Ahriman was honored with SKAP’s Metal Award, praised for his mastery of dark moods and for creating music that “sends shivers down the spine.”

Now entering their third decade, Dark Funeral have delivered what is arguably their most ambitious and aggressive album yet: "We Are The Apocalypse". A new era, a new inferno. Produced once again by Daniel Bergstrand, the album brings forth a sound that is simultaneously more expansive and more unrelenting than ever before — a true testament to Lord Ahriman’s vision and commitment to the genre.

    THE CRUSADE CONTINUES

As 2025 unfolds, Dark Funeral remains on the frontlines, touring globally in support of their latest releases. Witness the darkness live — do not miss them when they unleash their ritual in your city.

  • Dimmu Borgir
    Dimmu Borgir

As they conjure new, dark compositions, DIMMU BORGIR take a retrospective look back, celebrating the band's 30th Anniversary and the seminal artists that left a defining imprint on their sound.

Conceived in the heart of the Norwegian black metal scene in 1993, DIMMU BORGIR quickly broke free from the boundaries of the genre, daring to combine a traditional raven black sound with opulent symphonic orchestration. They became pioneers within their own field, forging groundbreaking albums such as Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (1997), Spiritual Black Dimensions (1999), & Death Cult Armageddon (2003), invading the entire world with headline tours and eventually turning into the most influential act of their genre after nine full-length studio releases.

After their last two successful albums Abrahadabra and Eonian and the remixed version of Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, DIMMU BORGIR herald their 30-year legacy by releasing, together for the first time, a collection of their cover songs. Inspiratio Profanus features a cover of Black Metal (VENOM), the genre-defining Perfect Strangers (DEEP PURPLE), fan favourite Burn In Hell (TWISTED SISTER), and electrifying renditions from the legendary CELTIC FROST, as well as other immensely influential artists!
