Yong Yello
Yong Yello is the alias of rapper and producer Yello Staelens., who, in a previous life, was a member of legendary Belgian hip-hop collective Eigen Makelij, where he collaborated with artists like Tourist LeMC. Today, he’s known as the new crown prince of the Antwerp song. His music is rooted in the ’90s hip-hop he grew up with but is heavily influenced by soul, funk, and soundtracks from the ’60s and ’70s. His second album, written with the finesse of a chansonnier, and complete with compelling pop choruses, came out in September.
