Airbag
Airbag is hailed as one of the most important bands to emerge from the Norwegian prog scene over the past decades. The band formed in Oslo, Norway in the mid 2000s. A string of self produced EPs was offered for free on their website receiving nearly a quarter of a million downloads within a few months. In 2008 the band signed with the now prestigious Norwegian prog label Karisma Records. Airbag’s debut album, Identity, received several album of the year awards, with the remarkable single, Colours. Their second album, All Rights Removed (2011), saw a change in the line-up with Henrik Bergan Fossum behind the drums. The album features the epic seventeen minute long Homesick. The band’s next albums, The Greatest Show on Earth (2013) and Disconnected (2016), revealed a darker side of the band, with lyrics dealing with society’s destructive forces and the individual’s struggle to fit in. After releasing the successful album A Day at the Beach in 2020, Airbag went into a studio in Oslo to perform a live acoustic set, featuring 3 songs from “A Day At The Beach” as well as the classics “Colours” and “Sounds That I Hear”. This release includes the previously unreleased song “Come on In”. The band’s 6th album, The Century of the Self (2024), turns its gaze upon themes of cancel culture, fear and condemnation in modern society. On November 21, 2025, Airbag will release their first double Live Album «Dysphoria».
