20 Years of Real Life - performing her classic debut album in full with band

New York City’s finest celebrates the 20-year anniversary of her astonishing 2006 debut album “Real Life” live with exclusive trio shows for 2026.

Playing the Real Life album in full with her superb band, these concerts will also feature key singles from across the Joan As Police Woman catalogue, fan favourites, deep cuts, reworked covers and a few surprises!

Joan has often spoken of how vital music and music-making is to her life:

“Music has saved my life. I am a devotee. It’s not something I can even choose or not choose, it’s just what it is. The album Real Life holds the key to my whole life. At the time I felt compelled to get it all into one record because I couldn’t imagine a world where I’d make another.

Now twenty years later (and twelve albums into my career) the dream continues to unfold.

I still live to play music. The shared experience of a concert is a constant reminder of our common humanity.  

Real Life was the spark that lit my calling as a solo artist and I’m truly excited to revisit all the songs that mean so much to me and lovers of “Real Life.”

The 20 Years of Real Life show will be a celebration long-time fans and newcomers will remember forever.
