John Schumann & the Vagabond Crew present an unforgettable concert event, traversing the full sweep of Schumann’s remarkable songbook – from Corrugated Highway (The Redgum Years Live) and Etched in Blue through True Believers, Lawson, Behind the Lines and Ghosts and Memories.
Across the night, Schumann’s poetry and passion will light up stories of honour, struggle, justice and love of country, delivered with the trademark wit and disarming humour that have made him one of Australia’s most distinctive voices.
Beside him, the Vagabond Crew set an extraordinary standard: a tight, virtuosic band capable of explosive power one moment and pin-drop delicacy the next.
All together they reinvent familiar Redgum favourites, uncover lost gems and reveal new depths in songs that have become part of Australia’s national soundtrack.
This is not just a concert – it’s a journey through the honour, justice, laughter and love that are the hallmarks of John Schumann’s work.

Redgum
Redgum was an important Australian folk-rock band from Adelaide. They proved to a sceptical commercial music industry that there was a significant audience for songs sung in an Australian accent, using Australian place names and addressing political and social issues. They carved out a niche in Australian music that was followed artists like Midnight Oil and Paul Kelly. Redgum recorded five albums and their 2 biggest hits, “I was only 19” and “I've Been to Bali Too” were written by lead singer John Schumann. “I was only 19” became the Australian Vietnam veterans’ anthem and is one of the top 25 Australian songs of all time.
