The 2025 release of Paul Dempsey’s ‘Shotgun Karaoke Vol. II’ (EMI) album saw the Something For Kate frontman revel in the stripped-back and spontaneous approach that brought the party vibes to the subsequent capital city tour. So much so, that he’s doing it again and bringing those sing-along covers to stages across regional Australia on the Shotgun Karaoke Vol. II Regional Tour from May to August.
Expect the setlist to evolve as the night rolls on with live favourites often including Don Henley's nostalgic "Boys Of Summer" alongside Tanita Tikaram's "Twist In My Sobriety", Grant Lee Buffalo’s Mockingbirds“”, Jeff Buckley’s “The Last Goodbye”, David Bowie’s “Life on Mars?” and Aussie band Max Q’s 1989 hit “Way of the World” and many more.

Paul Dempsey is the singer, guitarist and principal songwriter of one of Australia’s most successful bands, Something for Kate. Having released 7 platinum and gold albums to date with Something for Kate, amassing 14 Australian Record Industry Award nominations, multiple Rolling Stone gongs for best band, best album & best male vocalist along with countless sold out tours with everyone from David Bowie to Death Cab for Cutie, Dempsey released his first solo album in 2009. Tackling subject matters well beyond the realm of rock n roll, his songs gracefully explore everything from the existential angst of AI to the possibility of apocalyptic romance - ensuring he is never predictable. His solo albums include the gold ‘Everything Is True’, 2013's 'Shotgun Karaoke' covers album, 2016’s 'Strange Loop’& 2024's collaborative project with Bernard Fanning in Fanning Dempsey National Park. 2025 Sees the release of Shotgun Karaoke Volume 2. Dempsey is regarded as one of the country’s finest and most fiercely original lyrcists.
