The show features the DC area premiere of his sweeping and powerful Symphony No. 5 “Liberty” in collaboration with the National Symphony Orchestra. Don’t miss this majestic blend of jazz and American symphonic music, one of Marsalis’ last as artistic director of JALC. Symphony No. 5 “Liberty” is co-commissioned by the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington, DC; Gianandrea Noseda, NSO music director; and Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.
