  • DAZE
    DAZE

There are at least 3 bands called Daze: (1) a Danish dance/bubblegum trio from the late 90's, (2) a rock band from Switzerland, (3) a pop punk band from New York, New York. 1. Daze is a danish dance/bubblegum trio from the late 90's who did two albums with hits like "Superhero", "Tamagotchi" and "15 Minutes of Fame". 2. Daze is a Rock band from Switzerland. Songs on LastFM It all started years ago, when I and my brother grew up, listening to our parents collection of LP's. Our favourites were the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. We don't use much techniques in songs, we are melody-fanatics. We acquired kind of an understanding of melodies and structures, cause we grew up with them, listening to music without expectations and pretensions, just as a child does. Later, we dug punkbands like the Ramones and the Sex Pistols, the Clash, classical Punkrock. We love the three chord-rule! There's a huge repertoire, lots of ideas which we banned on tape. While listening to them for a thousand times, we started to upgrade and enlarge our sound. Actually three members of Daze are writing songs, which guarantees a variety of different tastes, different musical chambres. It's fun to grow musically. It's interesting to watch the changes! Since ten years we go our way and we'll go it, till everyone heard our music and the opinions inside. Our doggedness brought us on the road in Switzerland, Germany and even the USA. Let's rock!Daze is a Eurodance/Bubblegum dance band whose music has a bouncy/fun rhythm with interesting (and sometimes meaningless) lyrics. They are best known for their hit single, "Superhero", which was first released in the album Super Heroes. Like many other Bubblegum dance groups (Aqua, Toy-Box), Daze are from Denmark. However their music is a somewhat different from Aqua and Toy-Box and doesn't have the whacky high-pitch vocals which made Aqua and Toy-Box so famous. After an almost 10 year-long hiatus the band reformed in 2008 for a comeback tour in Denmark, as well as an upcoming new album with old songs and new mixes. • The Cartoons
    The Cartoons

Cartoons are a "technobilly" pop band from Denmark best known for their 1999 Eurodance cover of the 1958 novelty song, Witch Doctor by Ross Bagdasarian as well as for their outlandish plastic costumes and wigs used in live performances as caricatures of 1950s American rock and roll stars. Many of their hits were Europop covers of old rockabilly hits. The sextet, who use the stage names Toonie, Sponge, Shooter, Buzz, Puddy and Boop were first signed to Flex Records, moving later to EMI Denmark. Their most notable single to date is 1999's Witch Doctor, reaching number two in the UK with its combination of the original's "ooh-ee-ooh-aah-aah" chorus (although lacking that record's double-speed playback of the chorus), driving dance beat and occasional guitar breaks, hence the term "technobilly." They had further success in the UK with the Top 10 hit Doodah! (a version of the American folk song Camptown Races from the 1850s), the top 20 hit Aisy Waisy, which was performed on Jim Davidson's Generation Game, and had a top 20 debut album, Toonage. Cartoons also have a "secret identity" as The Scooters, a Rockabilly band. They recorded both "Witch Doctor" and "Doodah!" as straight Rockabilly songs, before they cartoonified them.
