Airwaves : Bjarni Daníel

Collaboration and collectivity have shaped the musical life of songwriter and music performer Bjarni Daníel, who grew up deep in the grassroots of Reykjavík, Iceland’s vibrant music scene. As member of bands such as Supersport!, Skoffín and bagdad brothers, his voice has become synonymous with the ideals of the local DIT (do-it-together) movement, spearheaded by music and arts collective Post-dreifing, which he co-founded in 2018.

2025 was a year of adventure for Bjarni Daníel, who temporarily resettled in Torino for a few months to work his first producer project with Piedmontese post-punk outfit Tanz Akademie whilst composing the material which will make up his debut solo album – a two-part piece titled DÍSEL, out this summer. The record is produced by Bjarni’s long time friend and collaborator, Árni Hjörvar Árnason.
