Airwaves : Marsibil

Marsibil is a duo consisting of Una Schram and Kári Hrafn Guðmundsson, who is also known by the artist name Kári The Attempt. Una and Kári both pursue independent careers as musicians and have each released music as solo artists. They now join forces in the project Marsibil, named after Kári’s wife and Una’s great-grandmother.

The musical world of Marsibil is an ode to classic Icelandic pop songs. Through a blend of original songwriting and rich, evocative arrangements, the duo creates something entirely new while retaining a sense of familiarity.

Marsibil released its first music in the summer of 2025. The songs “Það er komið sumar” (“Summer Has Arrived”) and “Íslenskur drengur” (“Icelandic Boy”) were well received on streaming platforms and received significant radio airplay. Íslenskur drengur also reached the Rás 2 Top 20 Chart in September of that year.
