Airwaves : Oyama

Oyama is a five-piece band hailing from Iceland that has been building a steady reputation as one of Reykjavík’s finest rock bands. Their sound is rooted in the shoegaze of the 90s, and their music pivots between soothing, airy dream pop and fuzzy, psychedelic noise rock. The band reaches high sonic peaks and awakens deep sensations with its mixture of spacious, noisy soundscapes and tender vocal harmonies.

Oyama have released two LPs (‘Coolboy’ and ‘Everyone Left’) and two EPs (‘I Wanna’ and ‘Opaque Days’). They have performed at showcase festivals and events all over Europe, including Iceland Airwaves, Eurosonic, by Larm, The Great Escape, Club NME, Ja Ja Ja, and Air D’Islande, as well as playing to packed audiences in Japan.
