LordeFew artists can capture the essence of an entire generation like Lorde. Since her breakthrough at just sixteen with the minimalist anthem Royals, the New Zealand singer-songwriter has redefined the sound of modern pop—intimate yet grand, poetic yet grounded in raw emotion. With her distinctive voice and profound lyrics, Lorde has built her own world where introspection and power go hand in hand. From the moody sophistication of Pure Heroine to the pulsating energy and self-discovery of Melodrama to the sun-drenched introspection of Solar Power, Ella Yelich-O'Connor's music is constantly evolving – each album represents a new chapter not only in her artistic career, but also in the emotional lives of her listeners. She writes like a novelist, creating vivid scenes and penetrating truths about youth, fame, loneliness, and joy. Now her career, including live performances, has entered a new phase defined by her latest album, Virgin. Her live performances are literally transformative. Whether she commands the stage in complete silence or leads a euphoric sing-along, Lorde creates an atmosphere that resonates emotionally. At Colours of Ostrava, Lorde will bring her unmistakable energy, a voice that moves between fragility and fire, and a repertoire of songs that have shaped a decade of pop culture. Expect moments of pure joy with the anthems What Was That and Green Light, as well as electrifying emotions with the ballads Liabitlity and Man Of The Year.

twenty one pilotsFormed during the punk era of the 1970s while still in secondary school in Crawley, West Sussex, England, The Cure has been one of the most enduring bands of the last thirty years, even if that has come at the price of multiple line-up changes, with only original frontman Robert Smith remaining in the band. Shunning the anarchistic tendencies of many punk bands after their formation in 1976, The Cure's first release was Killing an Arab, based on material from French writer Albert Camus' "L'Etranger" (translated into English as The Stranger or The Outsider). This track courted controversy because of its theme (misinterpreted as racist, it was in fact, about the futility of killing any ethnicity), but it started to secure a small following, which grew following the release of debut album Three Imaginary Boys and non-LP single Boys Don't Cry in 1979, the latter of which would become one of The Cure's most famous songs.
Following this, The Cure moved from their punk leanings into the portentous post-punk territory, releasing three albums of doom-laden rock in three years, Seventeen Seconds, Faith and Pornography, the latter of which charted inside the UK top 10, though the band were repeatedly dogged by the "Second-class Joy Division" tag. The group's fifth album, following their third set of line-up changes, Japanese Whispers was, through their desire to escape the Joy Division description, a poppier effort, featuring danceable singles like Let's Go to Bed alongside pop songs like Love Cats. Following the commercial disappointment of follow-up album The Top in 1984, The Cure returned to form with 1985's The Head on the Door. Featuring the singles In Between Days and Close to Me, The Head on the Door was distant from the band's punk roots, having more in common with successful alternative bands like The Smiths and Echo & the Bunnymen than their gloomier roots.
Two years later, the eighth studio album Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me was a more stadium-sized effort, though featuring audacious pop songs like Why Can't I Be You, it was seemingly caught between two styles. However, it was the band's ninth effort (following the departure of last surviving founder member other than Robert Smith, Lol Tolhurst), Disintegration, that would be their greatest success, both critically and commercially. Disintegration spawned hit singles like Lullaby (no.5 in the UK), Love Song (an impressive no. 2 in the USA), Pictures of You, and Fascination Street. The album itself was a culmination of The Cure's directions through the eighties, featuring the poppier side combined with the more tender aspects, as well as the gloomier facets.
Following this, a remix compilation named Mixed Up was released in 1990, featuring one new track, Never Enough, and two years later tenth studio album Wish surfaced, which was a hit mainly from the momentum gained by Disintegration, though it also featured their most famous pop song, Friday I'm In Love (no.6 in the UK and no.18 in the US). During the years following this, the band became distracted and discouraged by the lawsuit launched by former member Lol Tolhurst, who felt he had been deprived of royalties. As a result, the 1996 album Wild Mood Swings felt unfocused, and was a critical and commercial failure, though the single Mint Car was a moderate hit.
In 1997, the Cure released the compilation Galore, featuring new song Wrong Number. Three years later, at the release of original album Bloodflowers, Robert Smith announced it would be the last album for the band, the album itself being a return to the gloomier rock of Pornography and Faith. Resultantly, another hits compilation was released in 2001. However, in 2004, the band surprised all by returning with a self-titled album, their twelfth studio album, which was a surprise hit, reaching the US Top 10, its lead single - The End of the World - becoming a modest hit on Modern Rock radio, and receiving a relatively warm reception from the press.
In May 2005, Smith fired Roger O'Donnell and Perry Bamonte from the band, along with Bamonte's brother Daryl, who had been The Cure's tour manager for many years. The remaining members of the band (Robert Smith, Simon Gallup and Jason Cooper) made a few appearances as a trio before it was announced that Porl Thompson would be returning to The Cure.
Their thirteenth studio album was penciled in for the first quarter of 2007, but its release was postponed. They played one live concert in Miami (23 March 2007) at the unlikely dance-focussed Ultra Music Festival. Further concerts in 2007 followed in Australasia: Fuji Rock Festival, Japan (27 July); Hong Kong (30 July); Singapore (1 August) and a tour of Australia and New Zealand.
The Australasian concerts were the first in the region since the Dream Tour of 2000 in support of Bloodflowers. These 4Tour dates featured a heavier, guitar-based sound (with Roger O'Donnell's departure The Cure's signature delicate guitar/keyboard layering also vanished) and no new songs were included in the sets. However, fans were treated to close to three hours of pure, classic The Cure, the band playing a long string of hits and fan-favourites before ending their shows with thrashing encores which delved into their back catalogue to some of their earliest recordings such as, Fire in Cairo, Grinding Halt and Three Imaginary Boys.
An Autumn US tour was to follow but was eventually cancelled to enable the band to finish the recording and mixing of the new record. Despite the cancellation of the tour, four shows were played in October 2007, the last three in Mexico City. Here The Cure introduced a handful of new songs which displayed both the melodic/pop as well as the sombre/tender aspect of their songwriting.
In 2008, The Cure embarked on the next leg of the 4Tour, starting in Stockholm (9 Feb) and continuing through to London (20 Mar) before heading across the Atlantic to complete the previously cancelled tour of 2007. The European 4Tour saw the band deliver powerful shows lasting over three hours, none more exhilarating and charged than their superb performance at Vienna's small-sized, 3000-capacity Gasometer (23 Feb). In Paris, Bercy (12 March), The Cure returned to the stage for an amazing fourth encore, ending the 3 hour 30 mins show with their emotional classic, Faith. In London (20 Mar), The Cure were again in top form, performing for over 3 hours and offering a great set including brilliant versions of A Night Like This, From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea, Friday I'm In Love and Disintegration. Also notable was the magnificant, swirling guitar playing of Porl Thompson on the often over-looked Wrong Number and Never Enough, featuring a guitar-less and dancing Robert. The set included a large number of pop hits drawing a huge reaction from the crowd; amongst them: Hot Hot Hot !!!, The Lovecats, Close to Me and Why Can't I Be You?. New songs played were: The Only One (formerly known as Please Project), Freakshow and the emotional A Boy I Never Knew.
Finally, the 4Tour reached stateside in May/June 2008. The Cure again thrilled fans by playing epic yet energetic shows. Although the setlists on this leg of the tour followed a similar structure to those heard in Europe, the band also mixed in a few songs and encores that added a darker energy. To open and close the main set, the band occasionally played, Out of This World and Bloodflowers whilst The Holy Hour, Other Voices, Faith and the rarely-played Forever entered their set as part of The Cure's hour-long three-section encores. A further glimpse of their forthcoming album was heard via the inclusion of more new songs: Underneath The Stars, The Perfect Boy, Sleep When I'm Dead and Baby Rag Dog Book. In addition to the recording of the Paris, France show, both the Charlotte, N.C. and New York City, N.Y. (Madison Square Garden) concerts were filmed for a possible TV/DVD release.
In preparation for the release of their new album (believed to be titled) 'Dream 13', The Cure released 4 singles and a remix EP in 2008. Starting with the long-awaited release of The Only One/NY Trip on May 13, each single was released on the 13th of each month leading up to the October 13 release of the album. The artwork for the singles, The Only One, Freakshow/All Kinds of Stuff, Sleep When I'm Dead/Down Under, The Perfect Boy/Without you and Hypnagogic States EP (remixes of all 4 singles), was produced by Porl Thompson's 'Parched Art' and was reminiscent of the covers for, Primary, The Caterpillar, Lovesong, High, Friday I'm In Love, A Letter to Elise and the album Wish.

Mt. JoyThese dreams are more than paper things,” sings Matt Quinn on Mt. Joy’s infectious folk-rocker “Astrovan,” a warm, yearning bit of road-trip philosophy that posits the existence of a Deadhead Jesus cruising the dusty highways of the countryside, nursing a roach on his way to only He knows where. It’s an auspicious line from a band predicated on the revival of teenage dreams.
Mt. Joy started off as a rekindling of shared musical ambitions between Philadelphia high school friends Matt Quinn (vocals, guitar) and Sam Cooper (guitar). Reunited in Los Angeles thanks to the ebbs and flows of adult life, the pair met multi-instrumentalist Michael Byrnes through a Craigslist ad. They named themselves Mt. Joy as an ode to a mountain in Valley Forge National Park near Sam’s childhood home, and together, with Byrnes’ roommate Caleb Nelson producing, they recorded three songs and sent them out into the world, hoping for the best. “I knew I still wanted to write songs, but the realities of life made that dream seem pretty impossible,” Quinn says.
Much to the band’s amazement, “Astrovan” accomplished the impossible. Without initial promotion or fanfare, the song took off on Spotify, racking up 5 million streams to date. “The irony of ‘Astrovan’ was that song was really about being stuck in a life and wanting to have the opportunity to pursue a dream, and in an instant it gave us that opportunity. ” Quinn says. Mt. Joy quickly transitioned from a part-time calling into a full-fledged band rounded out by Byrnes on bass, Sotiris Eliopoulos on drums and Jackie Miclau on keyboard.
Come 2017, Mt. Joy hit the road, and hit it hard: They played tour dates alongside the likes of The Shins, The Head and The Heart, The Lone Bellow, and Whitney, and popped up at some of the summer’s biggest festivals, including Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, Lollapalooza and Made In America. “We were put on some big shows very quickly,” Quinn says. “The growth for us has been exponential - we’ve really just become a family that’s constantly pushing each other and the live show to be great.” They eventually caught the attention of Dualtone Records and began work on their debut album.
Steeped in folk-rock tradition and powered by the intuitive creative connection between Quinn and Cooper, the songs on ‘Mt. Joy’ depict Quinn wrestling with his own conscience, where the mundane and the fantastic collide as he processes tragedy, society, and love. Opener “I’m Your Wreck” describes “monsters in (the) closet, using up the wi-fi” as it cycles from its desperate, spiraling verses to its swinging, stubbornly optimistic coda, while the loping, plaintive chords of “Younger Days” meditate on a frayed psyche and the fear of choosing the wrong path. “Sheep,” with its collapsing, hoarse-voiced cry of “freedom was paid in blood,” is a post-Trump salvo on the responsibilities of the fortunate to overcome political and social despondency. And on “Silver Lining,” perhaps the album’s brightest moment, Quinn surveys the damage of hard drugs and the vicious cycle of addiction, as the song’s melancholic sentiment kicks into its fervid, defiant chorus, all shout-along vocals and trilling guitars.
Taken together, the self titled ‘Mt. Joy’ LP is a startlingly open document, wracked with the anxieties and fears that come just as life seems to start working out. It’s a natural reaction from a wary band like Mt. Joy - the result of a sort of professional vertigo, as they’ve gone from virtual unknowns to hot young commodity in little over a year. But there’s a sense of hope underlying everything, girded by the fact that the Mt. Joy LP is an impressive, honest portrayal of a young band facing that moment where dreams become reality, and finding beauty in the exhilarating uncertainty of it all.

OklouContained in Ninajirachi’s music is all the beauty, mystery, and danger of the natural world. The 23-year-old Central Coast-raised dance producer makes bristling electronic pop and club music that’s glassy, uncanny, and totally enthralling; like stalactites or spiderwebs, each of her songs is structurally impossible but spectacular to behold. A restless innovator and a renowned collaborator, she’s spent her teenage summers making adored, festival-ready pop from the avant-garde fringes, becoming an in-demand producer and one of the first landmark names of Australia’s burgeoning hyperpop scene. But even as her productions have shifted form and context, from the maximalist experimentation of her debut single “Pure Luck”, with Freya Staer, through to last year’s sprawling and intricate Second Nature Mixtape, Ninajirachi’s vision has remained remarkably consistent, each increasingly sophisticated track a new microcosm of organic fantasy to step into.
Born Nina Wilson, Ninajirachi first started making music before she had even left primary school, absorbing myriad influences — namely her piano classes and the maximalist dance-pop of Lady Gaga and Ke$ha — and channelling them into rudimentary Garageband sessions that led to an instant interest in production. At high school, Wilson discovered electronic and dance music, first stumbling across a Madeon song in the background of a YouTube tie-dye tutorial. In contrast to school, where few friends shared her decidedly niche interests, the internet — and, specifically, the internet electronic music communities she found herself in — provided a unique space where Wilson could be herself and celebrate her interests. Spurred on by a Porter Robinson fan community she was active in, Wilson began producing her own electronic music, taking inspiration from avant-garde electronic luminaries like Mura Masa, Flume, SOPHIE, and Robinson himself.
Once she started producing her own songs and remixes, Wilson began uploading them to SoundCloud and YouTube, and when she felt they were good enough, put them on triple j Unearthed, where she ended up as an Unearthed High finalist two years running. Wilson followed up the release of “Pure Luck”, and her success on Unearthed, with a string of gossamer, sugary singles released on NLV Records: tracks like “Lapland”, and its namesake EP, that combine the ambient rave aesthetics of Drain Gang with attention-grabbing, post-Y2K touchpoints, as well as remixes for everyone from Flight Facilities to Deadmau5. Between working on music, Ninajirachi established herself as a must-see artist, performing at Spilt Milk, Beyond The Valley, Listen Out, Splendour, Groovin’ The Moo, FOMO, and Falls Festival, and touring with Mallrat, Charli XCX, What So Not, and, in a perfect twist of fate, her production idol Cashmere Cat.
In 2020, despite the chaos occurring throughout the world, Ninajirachi thrived, releasing both the Blumiere EP and releasing the acclaimed True North (Deluxe) — one of The Atlantic’s top 10 albums of 2021 — and selling out Oxford Art Factory with Kota Banks. As other musicians struggled to adapt to existing solely online, Ninajirachi had a leg up, having spent much of her life in virtual worlds already. Throughout the pandemic, Ninajirachi performed at all of the international hyperpop scene’s most epochal events, including Club Immaterial, Nocturne, and Club Quarantine, as well as livestreams for Brownies and Lemonade and RL Grime’s Sable Valley — for whom she also released singles “Dracodraco” and “Stoneteller”. Known for her work on electronic music’s cutting edge, Ninajirachi has also worked with iconic brands like Ableton, Logitech and the
Over the course of 2022, Ninajirachi made good on the “One To Watch” promise made by Billboard Dance with the release of her debut full-length project, “Second Nature”. Led by the infectious “Start Small”, “Second Nature” captures a darker, more variegated side of her production, and which brings her songwriting and lyricism to the fore. A set of glassy electronic pop and club songs that are transporative and bracingly real, Second Nature was quickly identified as a turning point in her career, culminating with her covering NME Magazine’s December issue, and EDM.com naming her as one of the Top Producers of 2022. -

Amble
Amble are Robbie Cunningham, Oisin McCaffrey and Ross Mc Nerney, a 3-piece ensemble of songwriters hailing from the Midlands and West of Ireland.
If Amble’s debut EP, 2023’s “Amble (Live)”, introduced a new, musing, trad-tinged trio of songwriters to the Irish music scene, 2024’s highly distinctive “Of Land and Sea” finds the group expanding their sound to an ever-more global audience.
The unique perspective of three individual songwriters creates a peerless body of work - built on the now familiar, ruminative observations on the world and more fitting to the Amble journey - the stories unfolding each day within it.

KettamaFor the past few years, KETTAMA is a name that has continued to burn hot on the tips of tongues.
Real name Evan Campbell, the Galway born, London based artist has spent the best part of the last decade bringing the sounds of his native ‘G-Town’ to the world, embarking on a seemingly ever-evolving, never-ending sonic pilgrimage in the process.
From his humble roots in the Irish electronic underground scene, to spreading his wings in the UK and across Europe, KETTAMA now undertakes an unrelenting worldwide touring schedule, most recently with a standout tour across North America, Canada and South America.

Virginie BHailing from Montreal, Quebec, Virginie B is a singer-songwriter and young producer who exists in a landscape created by multitudes of tones and textures. In the bitter cold of January 2022, Virginie B’s new album INSULA was released. With her first LP, this prolific artist has taken a special place in the Montreal music scene, offering a masterful blend of genres; dream-pop, nu-disco, and neo-soul combined with an exploration of profound psychological states of mind. On stage, she captures lights and minds. Accompanied by seasoned performers, Virginie B’s INSULA will transport you to another plane. Since then, the project has been showcased in multiple settings: Francofolies de Montréal 2022, Coup Coeur Francophone 2019-2021, Phoque OFF 2019-2022, Festival Santa Teresa 2022, Official selections for M for Montreal 2022. INSULA was nominated at the GAMIQ under POP album of the year. Recalling Hiatus Kayote, early Diane Tell, Moses Sumney, or Minnie Riperton, this new direction is a dreamy voyage through the shadows of a neo-soul-textured world from another time and place.
