Misty Coast (NO) has been on our radar for the past couple of years, with their beautiful dream pop in the vein of Beach House. We're super grateful to have them play the Haukly stage Sunday 12 July!

Misty Coast is the dream pop child of Linn Frøkedal and Richard Myklebust, known from Norwegian noise-masters The Megaphonic Thrift. After a decade on the road with amps turned up to 11, tours with indie giants like Dinosaur Jr. and Stephen Malkmus, and a Norwegian Grammy on the shelf, Frøkedal and Myklebust decided to tweak the formula and flip things on its head. This time, the beauty wouldn’t be hidden beneath a curtain of noise — the pop melodies would be allowed to stretch out and bask on top of the blanket.

Since Misty Coast’s debut album in 2017, they’ve played a three-digit number of concerts across Scandinavia, the UK, Europe, and Japan, been nominated for the Spellemann Award, released four critically acclaimed albums, and made music lovers float away with their distinctive, dreamy psych-pop. They’re known for strong guitar hooks, fuzzy bass lines, and pop melodies so clear they can cut through mist, and they’re often compared to bands like Cocteau Twins, Mazzy Star and Broadcast.

Misty Coast's new album Always Sun is released on 24 April, and at this year’s Indiefjord they’ll perform stripped-down duo versions of both new and old songs. As always, the concert comes with a daydream guarantee. ✨
