The event will mark their return to the main hall at Kilden Performing Art Centre in the band’s hometown of Kristiansand, Norway, where they performed the triumphant last show in their comeback year in 2016, presenting their legendary album «Light of Day, Day of Darkness» to a sell-out crowd consisting of people from 14 different countries.

More about Green Carnation:

No matter how long or where the journey has taken them, Green Carnation have always sought to climb the highest mountains. While founded by Emperor's former bassist Tchort in the early '90s, the Norwegians quickly amassed a cult following while blazing their own trail through fields of symphonic doom, hard rock, acoustic plucking and progressive metal.

Had they never returned from hiatus during the mid-2000s, the band would've been remembered for completing one of the most ambitious individual epics in metal's vaunted archives. And yet, one mighty tale - or three, to be exact - continued to elude them. That is, until now. Two decades removed from its initial conception, Green Carnation have finally completed their masterpiece. A Dark Poem.

Preliminary quotes from reviews, A Dark Poem, Part I: The Shores of Melancholia:

"... we could be witnessing one of the most ambitious and exciting progressive metal trilogies in a long time." (Metal Hammer, Spain)

"It is carefully crafted, emotionally resonant experience that speaks softly, but hits with stunning force.» (Metal Temple)

"A must-listen for anyone who values music at the highest artistic level.» (KVLT Magazine)

Green Carnation lineup:

Kjetil Nordhus – Vocals

Tchort – Guitar

Bjørn Harstad – Guitar

Stein Roger Sordal – Bass

Endre Kirkesola – Keyboards

Jonathan Alejandro Perez – Drums

+ guests, including Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra

Green Carnations albumtrilogi A DARK POEM fremføres i sin helhet - live!

No matter what stylistic path they take, Green Carnation have never shied away from grand, gloomy statements. Founded in the early ‘90s by Emperor’s former bassist Tchort, the Norwegians quickly amassed a cult following thanks to one of the most ambitious epics in metal history. Even before going on hiatus during the mid-2000s, the ever-evolving auteurs still flashed a flare for the dramatic by performing their acoustic verses underneath a mountain dam. However, there was one tale — or three, to be exact — that continued to elude them. Until now. With A Dark Poem, Green Carnation have finally finished their masterpiece. The idea for an album trilogy stems from Green Carnation’s earliest yesteryears, but the first part of A Dark Poem cites various passages from across their illustrious cannon. Lead single “In Your Paradise” reaches newfound peaks of heaviness, swept out to sea by sublime riffs and somber symphonic flourishes. While navigated with the band’s familiar mastery, the view from The Shores of Melancholia is far from heavenly. Judgement day appears around every corner, steering them from the title track’s scarlet clouds of war toward Floydian whirlpools drenched in paranoia before being shipwrecked by second wave black metal. On A Dark Poem, Part I: The Shores of Melancholia, Green Carnation set sail on an epic journey into a dark night of the soul.
