  The Libertines

  Kdysi symbol chaosu, dnes kapela, která zní pevněji a sebevědoměji než kdy dřív. The Libertines se po letech turbulence vrátili albem All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade, které v roce 2024 vystřelilo rovnou na vrchol britské hitparády a potvrdilo, že jejich příběh zdaleka nekončí. Už jejich pražské vystoupení v roce 2022 naznačilo, že kapela do starého železa rozhodně nepatří a že mají i naživo stále co říct. Pod vedením výrazné autorské dvojice Pete Doherty a Carla Barâta spojuje dnes kapela drzost raných let s vyzrálejším pohledem na svět. The Libertines naživo balancují mezi minulostí a přítomností s lehkostí kapely, která si už nemusí nic dokazovat. Debut Up the Bracket a následné eponymní album definovaly dekádu raného milénia. Lehkost The Smiths, odvaha The Stone Roses nebo nadhled Blur. Stále ale originální, a ani na pozdějších albech nepostrádající texty reflektující svět kolem nás nebo osobní příběhy, které dávají hudbě vždy novou hloubku a větší autenticitu. Vystoupení The Libertines slibuje hodně, Colours of Ostrava jsou skvělou příležitostí, jak si připomenout jednu nádhernou rockovou éru nebo se nechat strhnout kapelou, která má stále co říct.   Level 42

  Internationally popular Brit-funk quartet best known in the UK for their hits 'Lessons in Love', 'Something About You' and 'The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up)'. Level 42 started life on the Isle Of Wight, Though their membership has fluctuated throughout the years, the original and perhaps best-known lineup consisted of Mark "Thunderthumbs" King (vocals & bass), Mike Lindup (vocals & keyboards) and brothers Boon Gould (guitar) and Phil Gould (drums). After the success of the Running In The Family album, Phil & Boon left the band, citing musical differences & nervous exhaustion as their respective reasons. They were replaced by Gary Husband on drums and former Go West & Kate Bush guitarist, Alan Murphy.
  
  At the end of the 80s, Mark King was recognized as one of the best bass players in the world having pioneered the 'slap and pull' technique, treating the bass as a percussion instrument. His style and virtuosity still are hugely influential, considering he also sang while he played very difficult basslines.
  
  King and Lindup continued under the Level 42 name, picking up new musicians along the way (including Gary Husband and the late Alan Murphy, who passed away after suffering from an AIDS related illness in October 1989) from the late 1980s through to 1994, when Forever Now became their last commercially-released album.
  
  King continued to perform with an new lineup under the Level 42 name until recently. He and Lindup again joined forces in the autumn of 2006 to release their first album in over a decade called Retroglide.

  Lottery Winners are the working class underdog story of the year. Anxiety Replacement Therapy, the UK Number 1 album from the Lottery Winners not only topped the Official UK Album Charts, but is also the 5th highest selling first week album of the year, selling more copies in the UK that U2 and Miley Cyrus. The album has received worldwide critical acclaim and has connected with people in a special way. The album tackles mental illness and ADHD in a biographical, chronological story of personal redemption. Songs like Letter to Myself, a song written to 12 year old Thom after getting expelled from school and feeling like a misfit, to tell him that everything is going to work out. ‘Worry’, ‘Long Way Down’ and ‘Sertraline’, a love song about an antidepressant also mark the more troubling parts of the record. As the album progresses, the mood lightens and songs like ‘Not Alone’ and ‘Let Me Down’ provide the comfort to Thom’s journey. Concluded with Anxiety Replacement Therapy, which poetically combines all of the other songs on the album. It truly is the band’s seminal moment. Why do we listen to music? Why do we go to gigs?
