Deafheaven
DEAFHEAVEN.COM
Deafheaven’s music feels like a project of accrual—on each album they fill new songs with elements of what they’ve learned in their earlier experiments. You hear echoes of past recordings in the howls of the present: the sun-dappled screamo histrionics of Roads to Judah are more fully realized in Sunbather’s pastel star-scapes; New Bermuda doubles down on the heaviest elements of both of those records; Ordinary Corrupt Human Love threads together elements of the soft and the heavy into an especially epic statement. Infinite Granite, often described simply as Deafheaven’s record with mostly clean vocals, compressed it all into something strikingly solid. That was true, but there was much more to it than that; listening to Lonely People With Power, you can hear its echoes everywhere—and if you listen closely, you can find deeper ways back into it when you listen to it again... Ultimately, Lonely People is a record that is anti-loneliness. It’s about finding less harmful ways to escape: your chosen family, your community, and even magic.

Heaven Shall Burn
Heaven Shall Burn, the metalcore band founded in Thuringia, Germany in 1996, has evolved into one of the most influential forces in the international metal scene. Comprising Marcus Bischoff (vocals), Maik Weichert (guitar), Alexander Dietz (guitar), Eric Bischoff (bass) and Christian Bass (drums), they have gained global recognition for their aggressive sound and politically charged lyrics.
Their 2008 album "Iconoclast (Part 1: The Final Resistance)" solidified their reputation as an innovative force in the metalcore genre. This success continued with subsequent records such as "VETO" (2013) and "Wanderer" (2016), both of which propelled them to the top positions of international charts. Their latest release, "Of Truth And Sacrifice" (2020), not only reached number one in their home country Germany but also led to headlining performances at major metal festivals worldwide, including Wacken Open Air and Summer Breeze Open Air.
This connection to the broader metal community emphasized their enduring relevance in the scene. The band not only sets musical standards but also actively engages in social and political causes, with a focus on human and animal rights. Through their passionate dedication to music and unwavering commitment, Heaven Shall Burn remains a driving force and undoubtedly stands as one of the most influential metal bands of their generation.

ElderElder is a genre-pushing rock band that melds heavy psychedelic sounds with progressive elements and evocative soundscapes. Formed in a small coastal town in Massachusetts in the mid aughts, the band has reinvented their sound over the course of five albums to grow from a stalwart of the stoner/doom scene into one of the most unique voices in the rock underground. Their long-scale compositions unfold as journeys, running the gamut of styles from the 70’s to the present within a single song with a penchant for “sheer gatefold-era grandeur” (Rolling Stone).

Wolves In the Throne Room
Nearly two decades into their journey as masters of US Black Metal, Wolves In The Throne
Room have emerged from the forest with PRIMORDIAL ARCANA. Their most majestic
album to date.
While the proverbial blaze in the northern sky remains the band’s artistic palette of choice,
Primordial Arcana expands upon black metal to include musical forms that pre-date the
genre’s devastating second wave. “After we discovered Metallica and Slayer in our early
teens, the first extreme metal bands we were into were Deicide and Morbid Angel,” Aaron
explains. “So death metal was there from the very beginning, and I think it especially comes
to the fore on this record.”
It’s all more evidence that Wolves In The Throne Room are a band with few
contemporaries. “We have a singular and unique voice in the extreme metal world,” Aaron
says. “We’re coming from an unapologetically real and personal perspective, and we haven't
made any concessions to what's expected of us. We’ve always done things exactly the way
we want to do it and in a super DIY way.”
That methodology has reached a new peak with Primordial Arcana. “We’ve gotten even
deeper into the DIY aspect by building our own recording studio from the ground up, and
producing and mixing the record ourselves,” Aaron points out. “And now we’re making our
own videos within the local wilderness. So we’ve been able to keep all of the creative
control between the three of us while raising the bar creatively. As we become more insular
and rely on ourselves more, the art gets better and sharper—a more perfect representation
of what the band is all about.”

Raging Speedhorn
Raging Speedhorn, a UK metal band formed in 1998 through the merger of Soulcellar and Box, quickly became a significant presence in the country's metal scene. Their unique two-vocalist style was inspired by UK hardcore band Hard to Swallow. They gained critical acclaim with singles like "Thumper" and even charted with "The Gush." The band went through various ups and downs, including lineup changes and breakups, but they reformed in 2014 and celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2018 with the original lineup. New members joined, keeping the band's metal legacy alive, such as James Palmer and Dave Leese in 2018 and Daniel Cook in 2019.
