The Canadian composer’s pursuit of sound from seemingly other realms is incomparable in the world of ambient music. His latest national tour confirms his place as a creator of sonic worlds that amplifies emotions and saturates the senses.
In the past two decades, Hecker has redefined the experimental music scene, vibrating the floorboards of Sydney Opera House and filling the industrial warehouse of Kraftwerk in Germany. Now, the man who popularised ambient music (he swears he didn’t mean to), brings his latest album to Adelaide Festival. Surrender to its sound.
