Nathaniel might have tasted success in Australia, but he is a global citizen with global aspirations. Born in Cape Town, Nathaniel’s parents moved to Melbourne when he was just six and encouraged his natural gifts at an early age. Sonically, he embodies the likes of old soul legends like Marvin Gaye and Prince, fused with modern-day icons such as Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, and Robin Thicke.
Nathaniel made his first impact when he revealed to the world that his distinguished tone is matchless — a smokey vocal quality that earned him a place in the Top 6 of The X Factor. He followed this momentum with a National Top 5 debut single, You — an R&B pop jam that showcased his signature falsetto and earned an ARIA nomination and triple platinum certification. He continued to build on this success with the uptempo funk anthem Live Louder, which achieved double platinum status and another ARIA nomination. His debut album Yours climbed into the Top 5 on the Australian charts, receiving critical acclaim and further highlighting his versatility and songwriting skills.
Nathaniel has supported and toured with major stars such as Brian McKnight, Craig David, Maxwell, D’Angelo, Musiq Soulchild, Aloe Blacc, and Common. A standout moment in his career was supporting global icon and Grammy Award-winner Mariah Carey on her national Australian tour. “Mariah invited me to perform ‘One Sweet Day’ on stage with her — a song she rarely performs live. It was definitely a defining moment in my career.”
Nathaniel's appeal was further confirmed during multiple private showcases for the global leadership team at Sony Music in New York City. Denis Handlin, then-CEO of Sony Music Australia, shared:
“Team, you would have been incredibly proud today; Nathaniel got an amazing reaction in front of the global leadership team. Edgar Berger, Head of International, personally stated that everybody should get behind Nathaniel as he is a superstar. Rob Stringer, Head of Columbia Records, said that he really loved it and wants to follow through. Patrick Moxey, Head of Ultra, said, ‘If no one else picks up the opportunity to release Nathaniel’s music, I’m in.’ In all my years of presentations, this very rarely happens.”
Nathaniel is passionate, focused, and continues to grow as a singer, songwriter, and producer. “I don’t believe in limitations. I’m a big dreamer and I want to keep pushing myself.” Now residing in Los Angeles, Nathaniel is currently working on new music to be released in 2026.
While his vision is limitless, the world is his oyster.
